What robs you from your extra 6 hours a week?

 

Who doesn’t want to increase “Available” time?Extra time

Time to use for getting things done, time with family or friends, time for self-care, time for playtime or time for just “being” versus doing – all the time!

Does this sound too good to be possible for you?

Let’s look at some common “thieves” that rob us from our precious time.

  • Lack of planning 
  • No process to organize and prioritize
  • Clutter or disorganization
  • No method to run your schedule versus it running you
  • Worry and stress
  • Lack of self-care
  • Procrastination and excuses
  • Good intentions but no goal setting method
  • Doing too many of the “shoulds” and not enough of the “wants”
  • Poor boundaries or lack ability to say No

Research shows that each one of these can rob you from 6 hours a week  -  of available time!

I find people who are struggling to get in control of their time will have more than one of these present – so the available time increases even more!

Each of these not only robs us of our precious time but also our ability to “choose” how we’ll spend it – in essence what kind of life we’ll experience. As a result, we are not able to stay in the driver’s seat of our life and practice what I call the “Self-Honoring” Approach to Managing Time. I believe, to be successful in your work and enjoy a higher quality of life, you will need to develop skills that support this approach. This is a necessary ingredient to lead your life from your Power Zone!

If you don’t practice this, you’ll be held back from your true possibilities. You’ll limit your ability to accomplish your goals. You won’t have the skills to increase your ability to focus and this will limit your income potential. You’ll worry and stress more and have a hard time “turning off” and being present in your life.

Alternatively, with the Self-Honoring approach you gain available time to use how you wish! Because you are confidently making decisions of how you’ll use your time and how other people use it as well. You are able to focus on your big goals, your life vision, everyday and see measurable progress. You stay on top of things and are proactively taking care of your best asset – You. You experience more joy and peace in your life.

Ahhhh….Wouldn’t that be nice?
