Is the comfort zone keeping you from serving?

Since I was a little girl I’ve felt a sense of purpose and had a bigger message than myself to impart. When I found coaching I knew I stepped into my purpose and I had found the vehicle to serve with it! To do this I had to “stretch the boundaries” of my comfort zone and find the courage to let my voice, my beliefs and my truth, be heard.

Don’t get me wrong – It wasn’t an instant shift to go from what was safe and comfortable, stable and secure – contradictory to taking risks to grow. In many ways, my current life was working for me. However, comfort zones create an illusion of being in control and happy of where we are. They allow us to “play it safe” and not risk making mistakes, or potentially looking foolish.

I get this! I made mistakes and didn’t always have the skills to see opportunities in my challenges. I had to learn how to quit making judgments (looking at things as mistakes) that would hold me back and instead accept, forgive, and let go. When I learned this, it allowed me to enjoy more of the discovery process and eventually relax into my gifts and talents so I could stop fighting them.

“If we all did the things we are capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves.”
- Thomas Alva Edison

I am passionate about what I do. This passion has been fueled by my clients’ success and the powerful results they’ve received, all from applying the principles I share in my book – Leaving Your comfort Zone.

With honor and pride I share one such story…

PenneHi Rene,

I just wanted to share an experience I had this week. I am the Chair of the Southwest Valley Chamber and we held our very first awards night “A Knight of Heroes”.

So when your book came out “Leaving your comfort zone” I knew I just had to have it, I knew that night would come and I would need to stand before all of these people and speak.  I did not feel the confidence that I needed to have, everyone assured me that I have done well when I have spoken in the past but this night would be different, I wanted to show my confidence to people and make them feel proud to have me as the chairperson. I read your book did your assignments and to this day I still reference your book. This book helped me become a stronger person and I thank you for that. I hope someday I can do the same for someone else and I plan on sharing this book with others.

Thank you for helping me become a stronger more confident person.

I challenge you to consider where you’re limiting your personal greatness – who you can become. Where can you stretch the boundaries of your comfort zone and serve others?

I believe at some point, each of us will face our own destiny and the choice to grow beyond where we are now in order to fulfill our main purpose in this life. I firmly believe it will involve some form of sharing with others. That’s the lifeblood of the cycle of life!
